What data we collect and why

Information you send us through our contact form. When you complete the contact form on our website, we collect your first name, last name, email address, the subject of your message and the content of your message. We use this information only to read and respond to your enquiry and to manage any communication or business relationship that follows from it.

The legal basis for this processing is your consent in sending us the message and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our products and services (Article 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR). Where your enquiry concerns a possible supply of goods or services, we may also process your data in order to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Technical information collected automatically. As with most websites, our hosting servers automatically record limited technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and version, and the pages you view. We use this information to keep the website secure and running correctly, on the basis of our legitimate interest in the security and proper operation of our website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Essential cookies are necessary for the website to function correctly and cannot be switched off.

To understand how visitors use our website and to improve it, we use Matomo, a privacy-focused analytics tool that we host on our own server within the European Union. Your analytics data stays under our control and is not shared with any third-party advertising or analytics network. Where Matomo sets analytics cookies, these are placed only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

You can control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that disabling essential cookies may affect how the website works.

Embedded content and third-party services

Our Contact page includes a map provided by Google Maps so that you can easily find our location. When the map loads, Google may collect your IP address and set cookies on your device, and your data may be processed by Google on servers located outside the European Economic Area, subject to appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Google processes this data in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share your data with trusted service providers who help us operate our website and our business — for example our website hosting provider and our email provider — and only to the extent necessary for them to provide their services to us. These providers act as our processors and are bound by appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.

We may also disclose personal data where we are required to do so by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Where your data is stored

Your personal data is stored on servers located within the European Economic Area (EEA). The website statistics collected through Matomo are likewise stored on our own server within the European Union.

How long we keep your data

We keep the information you send us through the contact form only for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry and to manage any resulting relationship. Where no business relationship arises, we will normally delete enquiry data within 24 months of our last contact, unless we are required to keep it for longer to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • ask us to erase your data;
  • ask us to restrict or object to our processing of your data;
  • receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where our processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at info@mattinadistribution.com. We will respond within the time limits set by the GDPR.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (Agencija za zaštitu osobnih podataka – AZOP, www.azop.hr) if you believe that our processing of your personal data does not comply with data protection law.
